Student Programs

Learning on the job

Delphi student programs include co-ops and internships at locations around the world. Throughout the experience, students have the opportunity to enhance their academic training and personal skills.

Opportunity

Delphi's co-ops and internships are designed to offer university students an exciting opportunity to gain practical, meaningful, and challenging real-world work experience. Throughout the assignment, students are able to improve their academic backgrounds and communication skills. The work assignments are established to complement the student's academic training and/or career goals. The components and features of Delphi student programs vary regionally.

The availability of student positions is determined annually based on forecasted staffing needs for each of Delphi's divisions. Most co-ops and interns are hired through consultation with their university career office. Other employment opportunities can be found on Delphi's Job Openings page.

Becoming a Student at Delphi

Delphi uses a behavior-based interview structure conducted by human resources representatives and hiring managers. Final selection for the program is based on a combination of qualifications, academic performance, interview results, and staffing requirements.

To assist you in preparing for a student program interview, here are some sample topics and questions:

  • Introduce and talk about yourself for a couple of minutes.
  • Explain why you chose the university you are attending.
  • Identify which classes you like most, the ones you like least, and why.
  • Recount a time when you worked effectively under pressure.
  • Depict a situation where you were successful in leading a team.
  • Describe your style as a team player.
  • Identify at least one area in which you would like to develop or improve.
  • Talk about one of the toughest teams/groups you've had to work with. What made it difficult? What did you do?
  • Describe an occasion when you involved others in making a decision. Why did you do so? To what extent did you use their input?
  • State specifically what attracted you to this program.
  • Tell about your greatest achievement.
